Todays "throw back Thursday" takes us to my very first architectural photography gig. The Vintage Round Top is a lodging spot in the great town of Round Top Texas. This house is an amazing blend of industrial, artistic and re-purposed antique decor. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and a great living room. It has everything. What you may not know is that they have beautiful peach trees in the back yard. So if the time is right on your stay, you might be able to enjoy some juicy organic peaches straight from the tree. Its a cute little spot in the country, but Houston and Austin are close enough for a day trip while on your stay. In town, there are some great eateries, but the best pie you will feast upon, stop in at Royers Pie Haven!! The Atmosphere is great, but the pie is even better. Maybe after dessert, head over for a Shrimp BLT at the famous Royers Cafe :)
For those of you haven't heard, twice a year Round Top hosts an antiques fair that stretches for miles. Hundreds of tents and booths line the streets selling American and French antiques, thrifty finds, handmade fabrics, and arts of all kinds. If you need it, or just want it, you are bound to find it there for sure. The perks of staying at this lodging spot, is its prime location to all of these shopping venues. Oh, and did I mention that The Vintage actually has their own booth in the Marburger tent? Owners Smoot and Paige Hull travel all over Europe in search of the perfect French antiques for their booth at Marburger Farms. But don't worry, if you miss the Spring and Fall fair dates, head on over to their website and check out the collections they have added to their online store.
Working with the amazing couple, Smoot and Paige, was such a blessing. Can you believe they trusted this college student (at the time) to take on such a magnificent project?! I was honored to design their logo, business cards, rack cards, shop tags, magazine and website. I also photographed the house and products for their shop. It was such a great opportunity to be a part of and has lead to many more! They have been featured in Country Living on several occasions since, and I can't wait to see what they have up their sleeve next! Here are photos from our first shoot, their store shoot, and some from their booth at the antiques fair.
If you are an upcoming business needing services like these, I would love to work with you! Please feel free to email me through my contact page, or connect through instagram or facebook :)
